A returnable grant facility that supports economically and environmentally sustainable businesses in the specialty coffee and cocoa sectors.
WHAT WE DO
The Rebuild Facility is a finance facility of Regeneration that supports sustainable cocoa and coffee businesses in East and West Africa. We provide interest-free working capital to aggregators, off-takers, and buyers of specialty cocoa and coffee to protect at-risk value chains and to safeguard the incomes of forest-dependent communities.
This capital, offered as a returnable grant, facilitates the continued purchase of sustainable commodities from smallholder farmers, cooperatives, and community-based enterprises. As the commodities are successfully sold to end-markets, the grant is returned to Rebuild and redistributed to strengthen sustainable and fair value chains.
OUR IMPACT
Since 2020, the Rebuild Facility has contributed to securing the livelihoods of over 42,000 cocoa and coffee farmers, unlocking over 16 million euros of finance for grantee companies, and placing nearly 77,000 hectares of land under sustainable land use.

OUR OBJECTIVES
Protect smallholder livelihoods
The Rebuild Facility is focused on protecting the incomes and livelihoods of our forest stewards – smallholder farmers and communities – by ensuring their access to international buyers and premium markets.
Conserve tropical forests
The Rebuild Facility aims to protect and conserve tropical forests and the carbon and biodiversity benefits within them, through building sustainable value chains and facilitating improved incomes for producers.
Strengthen the private sector
The Rebuild Facility aims to strengthen private sector markets by supporting market liquidity, transactional integrity, and innovative approaches for deforestation-free production.
